Local readiness workspace · EU Data Act Chapter VI
A narrow workspace for small SaaS and cloud providers preparing contract terms, export-format inventories, switching procedures, interfaces and the removal of switching charges. It does not decide whether a service is legally in scope or whether a specific implementation complies with the Data Act.
Set a status, owner and evidence reference for each control.
contract · core control
Keep contract terms that explain switching, termination and applicable timelines.
data export · core control
List customer-exportable data categories, formats and relevant metadata.
switching process · core control
Define who receives, coordinates and closes switching requests.
switching process · core control
Document operational steps, hand-offs, customer communications and closure evidence.
charges · core control
Record billing/configuration changes needed before switching charges must cease.
interfaces · core control
Document available interfaces, tooling or equivalent means supporting switching.
evidence · supporting control
Keep dated evidence of requests, exports, communications and completion.
The Data Act includes rules intended to make switching between data processing services easier. For a small provider, the recurring pain is less about reading the regulation once and more about keeping contract language, export capabilities, operational ownership and evidence aligned over time. This workspace keeps those implementation artefacts visible without claiming to replace legal scoping.
